Draft policy for public inspection

Our draft policy document will be available for inspection from February 21 to April 3, 2022.

Bookkeeping policy

The water board ensures safe living with water, sufficient, clean, and healthy water. To achieve this, we set requirements for water management structures. These include waterways, dikes, quays, and pumping stations in our working area. In addition, the water board designates who is responsible for maintenance. We record all this information in our registers. A register is a record of (water management) works. It is a map with accompanying information. Registers provide an overview of the tasks and responsibilities of the water board and other parties for the management and maintenance of these works. The water board is creating new registers because the current ones are outdated. The requirements for registers are also changing with the upcoming introduction of the Environment Act.

The register policy sets out how we create and amend registers and what data we include in our registers. Based on this, we draw up our new registers: the Water Management Works Register and the Maintenance Register. As with the register policy, these registers are also available for inspection before we finalize them.
