Emergency

In case of an emergency or disaster, please contact us immediately at 050 304 8911

We are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

When is something an emergency?

It is an emergency situation if there is immediate danger to the environment and/or people. For example:

  • Pollution (e.g., large oil slicks on the water, in a ditch, canal, or lake;
  • Dead animals (e.g., birds) in a ditch, canal, or lake;
  • Extremely high or low water levels in a ditch or canal;
  • Damage to dikes or quays;
  • Malfunction in one of our (sewage) pumping stations or sewage treatment plants;
  • Flooding.

What happens to your report?

When you submit an (emergency) report to us, we ask and do the following:

  • Who are you, what's going on, and where?
  • Your contact details (of course, we will not pass on your details to others)
  • We will register your report and pass it on to an employee who will assess the situation on site, possibly together with you.
  • The employee will take further measures if necessary.
  • Has the situation been resolved? Then we will contact you.

What do we do in an emergency?

We are available day and night. If there is an emergency, we spring into action immediately. The Noorderzijlvest Water Authority is an emergency response organization and has a special plan for emergencies. This plan outlines what we do if, for example, a dike breaks or a treatment plant breaks down.

Not an emergency, but still a problem?

Is what you see not an emergency, but still a problem? Please report it anyway. You can do so by calling our general telephone number 050 304 8911 or using our contact form.
