How dry and how wet is it now? What are the expectations? And what is the water board doing to ensure sufficient water in every season: not too much and not too little? In the water report, you can read the current state of affairs regarding the situation in our working area.
The water picture focuses on the amount of (expected) precipitation and the inflow and outflow of water.
Points of attention
- All in all, 2025 was drier than average. In the first half of the year, there was less precipitation than normal; from September onwards, there was more rain than average.
- December is fairly dry. Between 20 and 30 mm of rain fell in the first half of the month. Normally, 80-90 mm of rain falls throughout the month. The dry conditions are expected to continue through the holidays.
- Because the soil is saturated due to the heavy rainfall in the fall, our work area is quite wet;
- The water levels in our waterways are normal for this time of year.
