Are you going to do this?

As a senior process coach, you ensure that good ideas don't get stuck in meetings but are actually implemented in our daily work. You motivate people and make complex processes workable again. You work with teams and process groups on improvements that they devise and implement themselves. You guide them step by step, give them the right tools—such as LEAN—and ensure that they can continue on their own after a process. This not only improves the process, but also increases ownership among the people who work with it. You are there not only for the teams, but also for the people who bear responsibility. Process owners and process leaders can come to you for coaching and advice. You provide direction where necessary and encourage them to take control themselves.

In addition, you are the mainstay for mid-level and junior process coaches. Together with the other senior process coach, you keep an eye on the big picture, ensure a joint approach, and are available as a source of information when someone gets stuck. Because you know exactly what is going on in the workplace, you can advise management effectively, both when asked and on your own initiative. You will join the steering group, lead work sessions, and ensure that improvements are not just on paper but are actually implemented in the organization.

Colleagues know where to find you for a fresh perspective or a helping hand. With your enthusiasm and knowledge, you contribute to a culture in which continuous improvement is a matter of course. In this way, you connect policy, implementation, and strategy into a single whole.

In short: you are the driving force behind an organization that works a little smarter, more efficiently, and more enjoyably every day.

This is what we ask of you

As a senior process coach, you will be the driving force behind our organization-wide development program, "Focus on Operations." Not only will you coach colleagues in the implementation of this program, but you will also serve as a sparring partner for the management team when it comes to process-oriented working. You oversee all primary, steering, and supporting processes, identify bottlenecks, and convert these into concrete improvement initiatives. You advise and coach process owners and process leaders and are not afraid to hold up a mirror to them. You know better than anyone how to drive and communicate the change to process-oriented working.

In addition, you have:

  • HBO+/WO working and thinking level.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a process coach, change management consultant, or organizational consultant.
  • Demonstrable work experience in coaching groups.
  • Possession of (at least) a LEAN Green Belt or willingness to obtain one within the first year; experience with LEAN is an advantage.
  • Experience in coaching and managing fellow professionals.
  • Experience in the public sector is an advantage.

This is what we offer you

  • A creative and varied role in a team of enthusiastic colleagues, with plenty of scope for independent work and personal responsibility.
  • A job in a social field.
  • A fixed-term employment contract, with the prospect of a permanent employment contract.
  • A salary of up to €5,605 gross per month (scale 10) for a 36-hour working week.
  • On top of your gross salary, you will receive a 21% Individual Choice Budget (IKB). You can have this paid out or use it in another way, for example to purchase extra leave.
  • A pension plan with AB pension fund.
  • Excellent opportunities to create a good work-life balance with our work-from-home options.
  • A personal budget of €6,000 (€12,000 for those under 35) for training courses and compensation for commuting expenses or a work-from-home allowance.
  • Your place of work is Groningen. Our office is easily accessible by bicycle, public transport, or car.

Where will you be working?
As a process coach, you will be part of the team of process coaches under the functional management of the steering group. The team consists of a senior process coach, three (part-time) process coaches, and a trainee. We want to expand this team with another senior process coach.

Noorderzijlvest Water Authority wants to work more efficiently and systematically and continuously improve its business operations. Process-oriented working helps us achieve this. In recent years, we have increasingly adopted a process-oriented approach. Processes have been described, responsibilities are clear, and internal process coaches are active. As a process coach, you will work with employees and other process coaches to improve processes. Our goal is to further develop process-oriented working towards continuous improvement. We strive for more efficient and smarter collaboration with clear and complete information. As a process coach, you are an important part of this development track.

Your future department and organization

About the Noorderzijlvest Water Authority

The Noorderzijlvest Water Authority is located in a unique area where land subsidence caused by natural gas extraction and earthquakes significantly affects water management. The consequences of these developments, as well as climate change, are affecting the (waste) water system. Rising sea levels, more frequent and longer periods of heavy rain, interspersed with prolonged drought, but also challenges in the field of sustainability and new (problematic) substances: these are problems that require robust solutions. We want our (waste)water system to function as naturally as possible and to be climate-proof, resilient, and healthy in the long term. This requires us to take appropriate and affordable measures in a society that wants to discuss and influence these issues.

To effectively manage the challenges facing our water authority, we are implementing organizational optimization measures to improve our ability to work in a future-oriented and integrated manner. We believe this will provide a solid foundation for strategic thinking, enabling us to translate our plans into our daily work and carry out our tasks as efficiently as possible. This is becoming increasingly important in a society that is changing and demanding a lot from us.
