Guest lectures

We like to give guest lectures in classrooms within our area about our water-management tasks and about climate and sustainability. We can also give guest lectures on site in consultation.

Guest lessons for ages 10-13

  • About strong, smart dykes - Lesson about why dykes in the Netherlands need to be reinforced and how this can be done in the smartest possible way. Includes a creative assignment to design the ideal dyke.
  • About plastic soup - Lesson about plastic in our water and what we can do to prevent even more plastic soup. With experiments to investigate plastic soup.
  • About climate change - Lesson about climate change and the role of the water authority and students in this. With a fun board game to learn about water management and discharge.

Guest lessons for 14-16 year olds 

  • About Democracy and the choices made by the water authority with ProDemos' Democracy Game.
  • About dykes and floods, part of the Water on the school grounds teaching method.
  • About downpours and flooding, part of the Water on the School grounds teaching method.

Teachers of the 14-16 age group can get started themselves with the Democracy Game and Water on the School grounds.

Give a guest lecture
