Update: announced closure of Delfzijl coupures will NOT go ahead
The closure of the coupures (dyke passages) in Delfzijl announced earlier this morning has been canceled. The port area remains accessible as normal.
Revised water level forecast
Rijkswaterstaat reports to the water authority that the expected water level at sea around noon will be NAP+ 2.85 metres. This is below the standard of NAP+ 3.00 metres, at which point the coupures normally close. This means that the planned closure from 9:00 this morning is not necessary.
The water authority remains alert. It cannot be ruled out that the coupures will still have to close in the course of the coming days.
