Farewell of Dyke Reeve Bert Middel
It’s all over for our dyke reeve Middel. Today we’re giving him a fitting send-off. We’ll be doing so this afternoon with a varied programme renowned speakers and some typical Groningen humor at our water board office in Groningen.
With contributions from, among others, Peter Glas (Delta Commissioner), Rogier van der Sande (Chair of Dutch Water Authorities), Hetty Klavers (dyke reeve Zuiderzeelanddyke reeve , on behalf of the Association of Dike Reeves), Eisse Luitjens (on behalf of the board of Noorderzijlvest Water Authority) and a special performance by the world-famous “rock ’n roll duo” Pé Daalemmer and Rooie Rinus, who are legends in our Noorderland. After this, Bert can retire with peace of mind.
