Arie van Wijk will step down as a member of the executive committee in November.
On October 6, Arie van Wijk informed the general board that he is stepping down as a member of the executive committee of the Noorderzijlvest Water Authority. Van Wijk has been struggling with persistent fatigue and has been on sick leave for some time. His health has led him to this decision, which he has had to make with a heavy heart.
Van Wijk took office as a member of the executive committee on behalf of the Water Natuurlijk political party after the water board elections in March 2023. His portfolio includes issues such as sufficient and clean water in the south, groundwater, water quality, fish migration, and waterway management.
Arie van Wijk will step down as a member of the executive committee on November 7. The Water Natuurlijk faction has nominated Elze Reitsema as his successor. Reitsema is currently serving as his temporary replacement. The decision on the appointment will be made at the general board meeting on October 23, 2024.
