Do you need to irrigate? Please, let us know!
The water authority is asking farmers and other users who plan to irrigate to notify us in advance. This will allow us to better monitor water levels in ditches, canals, and other surface waters.
It's important that you notify us of any irrigation
At the moment, there is still sufficient water available, and there is no irrigation ban in effect. However, it is important that you report your irrigation activities to us. By knowing in advance where and when surface water will be withdrawn, our water level managers can plan accordingly. This allows us to bring in water from lake IJsselmeer when necessary and better assess where additional water is needed in our area.
Our advice
- Check to see if you have a permit. You need a permit to withdraw surface water for irrigation. If you don’t have a permit yet? Apply for one at the Environment and Planning Portal.
