Need irrigation? Let us know!
Due to the prolonged dry spell, fields are being irrigated more frequently. The water board would like to know this.
We would like to know what you do.
Every year, the water board asks farmers who need to irrigate their fields to report this in advance. This allows us to better monitor water levels in waterways. We can then respond in time to continue supplying sufficient water, even during this dry period. However, we have noticed that not everyone reports their irrigation activities to us. It also happens that farmers in a particular area irrigate and extract water from the same watercourse(s) at the same time. This can cause the water level to drop (too) quickly.
Our advice
- Let us know that you want to irrigate; it helps most if you do so 48 hours in advance. Also let us know if you may have already started.
- Please contact the water board via our general number 050-3048911.
- If possible, consult with colleagues in the area: make agreements not to irrigate at the same time in the same area. Our water level manager can help with this if necessary.
- Preferably water at night.
Thank you for your cooperation!
