Sewage pumping stations shut down

On the afternoon of Thursday, December 19, local residents reported flooding and foul odors on the grounds of the Visio De Brink care facility on Veenweg in Vries. A team from our water authority dispatched to assess the situation. At first, the problem seemed manageable, but conditions quickly worsened. It was suspected that the pressure line between Vries and the Eelde wastewater treatment plant had been damaged. A decision was then quickly made to shut down the sewage pumping stations in the area and council notify the council . Trucks from Stelt took over the transport of sewage.
