The end of the project is in sight. We’d love to celebrate this milestone with the residents of Zoutkamp! On Saturday, June 13, everyone is welcome to come see the Nieuwe Waterwerken! You can view it from both the water and from land.

• You’re more than welcome to come aboard one of the boats to see the work that’s been done from the water. Let us take you on a journey from the harbour Zoutkamp through the Reitdiep Lock, and then back ashore via the Hunsingo Lock.
• In addition, behind the dyke and around the new Hunsingo pumping station, there is plenty to see and do related to the Nieuwe Waterwerken for people of all ages.
• Take a look inside the new Hunsingo pumping station and be inspired by the story behind water management and how we in Zoutkamp—as a province, council, water authority, and contractors—have worked together with the village to get the project off the ground.
• There will also be various activities for our younger visitors (including a bouncy castle and face painting)! With live music and some snacks and/or drinks, we hope to make this a wonderful day. You’re very welcome!
