Give water and soil a voice!

When we demand a lot from water and soil... can they also demand something from us?

Listening sincerely to Water and Soil

We demand a lot from water and soil. They provide us with a good food supply, biodiversity, and a pleasant living environment. We ask them to adapt to the design of our landscape. Water is an unpredictable partner and regularly makes itself heard: with flooding, drought, and quality problems. Soil is a silent force and tries to meet our needs until it can no longer do so.

To truly listen to Water and Soil, we need to know how they feel and behave. And more than that. We will have to give Water and Soil a voice in all collaborations in which they play a role, such as future land use, biodiversity, housing projects, and our economy. But how do we do that? How do we all ensure that we listen sincerely to what Water and Soil need? That is the essence of our research; with this advice, we present a starting point from which we can further develop our collaboration with nature.
