Gemaal Hunsingo has been chosen as the name for the new pumping station to be built pumping station the historic Hunsingo lock in Zoutkamp. The choice of this name is the result of a vote that took place at the end of last year. Residents of Zoutkamp and the surrounding area were able to vote for one of three proposed names. With 191 of the 361 votes, the name Gemaal Hunsingo proved to be the favorite. More than half of the voters cast their vote for this name. With 108 votes, Gemaal De Soltcamp finished in second place with just under 30% of the votes. Gemaal Achter Diek came in third with 62 votes, or just over 17% of the votes.
