Experiencing groundwater issues in your home or building? This page provides information on what to do and who to contact.
How does it work?
Do you own your own home? Or do you own another building, such as commercial premises? Then you are responsible for taking measures to prevent groundwater flooding.
- You can contact the municipality with any questions about groundwater.
- The municipality has a legal duty of care for groundwater. If necessary, the municipality will install facilities to drain excess groundwater.
- Are there problems with groundwater in or around your home, building, or property? If so, you cannot hold the municipality responsible for this.
- Groundwater nuisance can be a long-term problem. Or it can happen repeatedly. In that case, the municipality will investigate the cause. Together with the owner and the water board, the municipality will draw up a plan to solve the problem.
