High water levels – water board on high alert
There has been a lot of rainfall in recent days. Water levels are high, so we are being extra vigilant.
We have now closed the valve in the lock at Schouwerzijl. This allows our Waterwolf pumping station to better drain water from the south of our area towards Lauwersmeer. We can discharge some water into the sea, but not much. That is why we are storing a lot of water in Lauwersmeer. We can gradually discharge this into the sea over the coming days.
