You can arrange many matters with the water board online. The water board is responsible for ensuring that this is done in a reliable manner. That is why we often ask you to log in with DigiD or eHerkenning.
DigiD
DigiD is the login method for residents.
In most cases, you log in to the water board using the DigiD app on your phone or an SMS code. This provides even better protection for your personal data. The DigiD app is the easiest way to log in securely. You don't need to remember a password, just a PIN code that you choose yourself. You can also log in in two steps with an SMS code, even if you don't have a mobile phone.
You can apply for or activate DigiD via www.digid.nl.

eRecognition
eHerkenning is the login method for businesses.
Would you like to arrange something with the water board on behalf of a company or organization? For greater certainty about your online identity, we use eHerkenning. With eHerkenning, you can identify yourself securely and easily online. The great convenience is that you can log in to multiple organizations with eHerkenning. This means you have fewer passwords to remember. Secure, easy, and reliable.

In most cases, the water board requires eHerkenning at a minimum level of EH2+. We expect this to become EH3 soon, as is the case with many other government organizations.
