Land use Veenhuizen
In May 2016, a Land Use Committee for Veenhuizen was appointed by the province of Drenthe to facilitate land exchange and mediation in the transfer of infrastructure and structures.
Purpose and cooperation
The purpose of the land development is land exchange and mediation in the transfer of infrastructure and structures to the various government agencies within the boundaries of the development plan.
This is a collaboration between the Noorderzijlvest Water Authority, the province of Drenthe, Prolander, Noordenveld Council, the national government, the Land Registry, and residents in the area.
On behalf of the Noorderzijlvest Water Authority, executive board member Carla Alma sits on this committee.
Task
The task of the Land Use Committee is:
- Mediation of the transfer of infrastructure and engineering structures (bridges, culverts, etc.) from the State to local councils and water authority;
- Regulating the public nature of roads;
- Setting up land exchange to improve the agricultural structure and reduce agricultural traffic through Veenhuizen. The national government is making 20 hectares available as a land reserve;
- Strengthening the landscape structure lines;
- Strengthening recreational connections, such as the construction of a cycle path on the embankmentalong the sixth district.
Schedule
- The parties have now reached broad agreement on the transfer of structures.
- The next major step is to initiate a land exchange under the WILG (Development of Rural Areas Act). In addition, a development plan will have to be adopted by the Provincial Executive.
- The project will be completed in 2020.
