Is this what you're going to do?
It’s a Tuesday morning in the last week of the month. A controller asks if you can take a look at a few outstanding entries. You open the file and quickly find the answer. Great! A few months ago, a question like that would have required a lot of digging. Now, everything is clear. Accounts receivable management has been updated, the books are up to date, and the month-end closing is going much more smoothly. You notice that your colleagues trust the numbers and are happy to come to you for help. Not because you know everything, but because they know you work carefully and keep things in order.
At the end of the day, you walk out the door feeling good. You’ve processed invoices, resolved discrepancies, and helped a colleague, but above all, you’ve contributed to something bigger. Together with your colleagues, you’re building a financial administration system that’s becoming increasingly professional. You contribute ideas on how to streamline processes and see that improvements actually deliver results. That’s what energizes you.
What are you going to do?
As a Financial Administration Clerk, you ensure that the water authority financial records are water authority , accurate, and up-to-date. You work closely with colleagues in the financial administration department and support them by providing reliable data. No two days are exactly the same. One day you might be processing invoices and resolving discrepancies. The next day, you might be helping to gather information or working to collect outstanding receivables. It’s precisely this variety that makes the work interesting. Of course, there are also times when things get busier. By working well together and planning ahead, there’s still room for a healthy work-life balance.
Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
- Managing the accounts receivable process, including following up on outstanding items;
- Verifying, coding, and processing purchase invoices;
- Management and analyse balance sheet items;
- Preparing for the Specialized Internal Audit (VIC);
- Answering questions from colleagues;
- Identifying and explaining financial discrepancies;
- Supporting controllers by providing information from the accounting records.
