Get involved
Following internal meetings within the water authority and a meeting with stakeholders on 9 April, we will present scenarios to the Board of Directors.
Stakeholder Meeting on 9 April: “Building the Water Management Programme Together”
We spoke with our partners about how we can work together to ensure we can continue to live safely with water, how we can keep working towards clean and healthy water, and what we need to ensure an adequate water supply in every season. It was a gathering filled with meaningful encounters and productive discussions about the future of water management; where our challenges intersect and how we can support each another.

Those in attendance included representatives from local councils, the water company, provincial governments, the grid operator, environmental organisations, and agricultural organisations. It was attended by people who work with water on a daily basis, and by people involved in spatial planning, energy, agriculture, the economy, health, the environment, climate, etc.

We created a video highlights of this stakeholder meeting:
Internal meeting for water management employees on 2 April
Colleagues from the water authority had the opportunity to respond to the ambitions and challenges that have been identified. There was time to learn more about how we will discuss scenarios with the Board of Directors. The main question is: what kind of water authority do you actually want to be?
The progress of the process and the steps we still need to take were also explained. Watch the video:
Public consultation and decision-making
During the process of creating the new Water Management Programme, there will be opportunities to exchange ideas with us about the content of the draft WMP. We will organise this internally and externally. A number of meetings have been planned with the Executive Board and Board of Directors review the results so far and prepare choices.
Ultimately, this will lead to a 'Draft Water Management Programme'. The Executive Board will decide to make this available for inspection at the beginning of 2027 for the formal public consultation process.
At the end of 2027, the Board of Directors will adopt the new Water Management Programme 2028-2033.
