Would you like to join the study?
For our study, we talk to many different parties inside and outside our network.
How can you participate?
In order to create as comprehensive a picture as possible with regard to the Water and Soil guiding principle, we would like to gather input from as many perspectives as possible.
- During our study phase, we prefer to collect personal information. We visit various partners and talk personally with a selection of people who, like us, have an interest in a sustainable implementation of the WBS principle. We actively approach people inside and outside our network to participate in our study.
- Do you have an opinion or strong ideas about WBS and have not yet received an invitation from us? Please send an email to project leader Rianne Bredenhoff to make an appointment: r.bredenhoff@noorderzijlvest.nl.
Understanding different perspectives
The Water and Soil guiding principle affects many aspects of our physical living environment. Its implementation therefore requires a broad perspective. A number of important perspectives converge in the vision and implementation of the principle:
Ecological Perspective
Ecological Perspective: The principle focuses on protecting and strengthening natural water and soil systems. It takes into account water collection, biodiversity, and soil quality to limit the effects of climate change, such as drought and flooding.
Spatial Perspective
Spatial Perspective: New construction projects or area developments are assessed in terms of what the water system and soil can handle. This means building in the right places, such as higher-lying areas. The question of how we can best use the available land and provide more space for water is also addressed.
Economic Perspective
Economic Perspective: Taking water and soil into account prevents damage caused by flooding, subsidence, or soil degradation , leading to lower costs in the long term.
Social Perspective
Social Perspective: This principle improves the living environment for residents by ensuring clean water, fertile soil, and protection against flooding.
Administrative Perspective
Administrative Perspective: Water and soil are guiding principles in the policies of governments and partnerships, where integrated cooperation between municipalities, provinces, water authorities, and other parties is crucial.
