Investigation work Gorecht ponds
On February 15 and 16, the council and water authority will conduct a survey to determine whether there are any explosive materials from World War II in the Gorecht Ponds. Last year, magnet fishermen found three pieces of wartime debris in the water. These were detonated elsewhere by the Explosives Disposal Service. To be on the safe side, the specialized company Armaex will investigate the ponds.
What's going to happen?
Armaex is going to survey the ponds. Since there is ice on the surface, they will use a surveying system that is pushed across the ice. This will allow Armaex to determine whether there are any more wartime remnants underwater. Depending on the results of the survey, we will decide whether further action is needed.
How does the neighborhood notice it?
The inspection will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and will not cause any disruption. There is no danger to nearby residents or passersby.
