Petition to preserve 'Waterskaap' submitted

Over 1,200 signatures

The petition is intended to suspend the planned demolition of the premises on the site.
The bundle containing more than 1,200 signatures was received by Dyke Reeve van der Schaaf and portfolio holder Beerda.

Difference of opinion

The administrators and squatters stated that relations between them are good. At the same time, there are differences of opinion on the use of the site. Noorderzijlvest remains of the opinion that the site is unsafe and unsuitable for long-term stays or for organising all kinds of events. That is not the role of the water authority.
The group of squatters hopes that a solution will be found to keep 'Waterskaap' for longer before the preliminary relief proceedings scheduled for 11 February.
Portfolio holder Beerda: "If a solution that is acceptable to all parties can be found before the scheduled date of the preliminary relief proceedings, we are of course willing to discuss it."
