Petition for preservation of 'Waterskaap' submitted

Over 1,200 signatures

The petition is intended to suspend the planned demolition of the commercial building on the site.
The bundle containing more than 1,200 signatures was received by dyke reeve van der Schaaf and councillor with special responsibilities Beerda.

Difference of opinion

The administrators and squatters stated that relations between them are good. At the same time, there are differences of opinion about the use of the site. Noorderzijlvest remains of the opinion that the site is unsafe and unsuitable for long-term stays or for organizing all kinds of events. That is not the role of the water authority.
The group of squatters hopes that a solution will be found before the preliminary relief proceedings scheduled for February 11 to keep 'Waterskaap' for longer.
