Practical solutions for a clean farmyard
During activities on the farmyard, feed and manure—or their residues—can end up on the yard. When it rains, these substances often end up in surface water, often unintentionally. This results in the loss of valuable nutrients for the farm. At the same time, the substances in the water cause excessive nutrient loading, which degrades water quality. In many cases, this problem can be solved with simple adjustments to farm management practices and on the farmyard.
Advisors from the LTO Noord “Clean Farmyard” project provide practical solutions and tips to prevent nutrient runoff from farmyards. Preventing nutrient runoff helps improve water quality.
