Practical solutions for a clean farmyard
During activities on the farmyard, feed and manure or residues thereof can end up on the yard. When it rains, these substances often end up in surface water, often unknowingly. This results in the loss of valuable nutrients for the farm. At the same time, the substances in the water provide too much nutrition, which reduces water quality. In many cases, this problem can be solved with simple adjustments to farm management and yard practices.
Advisors from the LTO Noord project 'Clean Farmyard' provide practical solutions and tips to prevent runoff from farmyards. Preventing nutrient runoff helps to improve water quality.
