Council of State rules on Marum fire

On 24 December 2025, the Council of State ruled on the fire in Marum (2020). The water authority wanted to recover the costs of cleaning up contaminated firefighting water (€471,000) from the company where the fire occurred. The court ruled that the company did not committed any violation. Therefore, we cannot recover the costs. They will be borne by the water authority. 

We are disappointed with this ruling, but respect the court's decision.
