Council of State rules on Marum fire

On December 24, 2025, the Council of State ruled on the fire in Marum (2020). The water board wanted to recover the costs of cleaning up contaminated firefighting water (€471,000) from the company where the fire occurred. The court ruled that the company had not committed any violation. Therefore, we cannot recover the costs. They will be borne by the water board. 

We are disappointed with this ruling, but respect the judge's decision.
