Over 1 million euros available for the Noorderzijlvest Agricultural Wash and Rinse Stations Project
In the coming period, the Noorderzijlvest Water Authority, in collaboration with the provincial executive of Groningen, will make more than 1 million euros available for the Noorderzijlvest Washing and Rinsing Stations project. Through this project, farmers can apply for subsidies to build a washing and rinsing station on their own property. Such a cleaning station ensures that significantly fewer residues of manure and chemical crop-protection products from machinery end up in groundwater and surface water.
Grant application
The subsidy can soon be applied for at www.agrarischwaterbeheer.nl.
Renovated rinsing area ensures that fewer contaminated residues end up in surface water
A renovated rinsing station ensures that significantly less manure and chemical crop-protection product residues from machines end up in groundwater and surface water. Due to a collection tank, residues of chemical crop-protection products and manure do not end up in groundwater and surface water when machines are cleaned. Instead, the wastewater is collected in the tank and treated. These changes contribute to improving water quality in the Noorderzijlvest Water Authority region.
Subsidy only for farmers in Noorderzijlvest region and the Groningen part of Wetterskip Fryslan
The project is for farmers in the Groningen part of the region and in the Groningen part of Wetterskip Fryslân. More information about the project will soon be available at www.agrarischwaterbeheer.nl.
Collaborating on the Delta Plan for Agricultural Water Management
The project stems from the Delta Plan for Agricultural Water Management (DAW). In this plan, farmers, water authorities, and government agencies work together on future-proof water and soil management in agriculture. This broad collaboration is crucial to the success of clean and sufficient water, healthy soil, and adaptation to the changing climate.
More information
Agriculture and clean water are inseparable. Many farmers are already working hard to ensure cleaner water. There are important regulations for the agricultural sector.
