Is there a ditch, pond, or pool near your home or school? Then you can check how clean this water is! Small aquatic animals live in the water. By studying which aquatic animals live in your ditch, pond, or pool, you can determine how clean the water is.

Plants and animals on a riverbank

We want lots of plants and animals to live on the banks of rivers and lakes. This makes the water cleaner. We call this a nature-friendly bank. You can study exactly how this makes the water cleaner or, for example, whether a nature-friendly bank is good for recreation.

Redesign a pumping station or a weir
