Water management programme
Every six years, the water boards in the Netherlands draw up a water management program. This program outlines what we will do during that period and, more importantly, how and in what order. Over the past few months, we engaged in discussions with residents, local governments, other stakeholders, our board, and our staff. This gave us an increasingly clear picture of the goals and measures for the next six years. These have now been set out in the draft Water Management Program 2022–2027.
Draft WBP
You can read this draft now. It’s not quite finished yet, but the main points are already included. We’re publishing the draft now so that everyone can review it before the presentation.
Toward a decision
Additional responses from the community and our Board of Directors make the draft final. The Executive Board of the water authority then formally presents the water management programme for public consultation in June. Consultation response can then be submitted. After considering the consultation response, the Board of Directors will adopt the water management programme in November. It will then be ready to take effect on 1 January 2022.
