Tip 2: Use less detergent

We remove the detergent you use in your washing machine or dishwasher from the wastewater. When you use less detergent, you save money and we have less work to do.

Tip 3: Use natural soap

Natural soap is easier to remove from water than artificial soap. Therefore, use detergent made from natural soap. You can buy this at health food stores. Please note: if your tap water contains a lot of scale, natural soap will not work well. You can find more information on the Milieu Centraal (Environment at the Heart) website www.milieucentraal.nl.

Tip 4: Do not clean brushes and rollers under the tap

When you clean brushes and rollers under the tap, you flush paint and turpentine down the drain. These substances are extremely harmful to nature and our sewage treatment plant. Put brushes and rollers in a plastic bag in the freezer. Finished painting? Let them dry and throw them in the grey container. You can find more information on the Milieu Centraal (Environment at the Heart) websitewww.milieucentraal.nl.

Tip 5: Do not sweep leaves into the gutter

When you sweep leaves into the gutter, they end up in the sewer. Large quantities of leaves can clog our treatment plants. Sweep the leaves into a pile and dispose of them in the green container.
