Update: Delfzijl dyke passages reopen

This morning, Friday, 2 January, we closed the dyke passages in Delfzijl due to high water at sea. The water level has now dropped again and all dyke passages have reopened.

Update

The highest water level was NAP +2.96 metres in the end. This was measured at 10:00 this morning. The water level has since fallen again and all dyke passages have reopened. No more high water levels are expected at Delfzijl in the coming days.

Closure at NAP +3m or higher

The dyke passages in Delfzijl always close when the expected sea level is NAP +3 metres or higher. The water level of NAP +3.00 metres is expectedon Friday morning around 9:50. The protocol is to close the dyke passages three hours in advance. We carry out the closure together with our colleagues from the Hunze en Aa’s Water Authority.
