Provisional results of Noorderzijlvest elections announced
This afternoon, the preliminary results of the water board election for the Noorderzijlvest Water Board were presented by dike reeve Roeland van der Schaaf. In the Noorderzijlvest area, 292,199 voters were eligible to cast their votes for a total of 11 parties with 190 candidates. A total of 172,866 votes were cast. This brings the turnout to 59.2%, which is almost 6% more than in 2019.
Provisional distribution of seats
Of the 23 seats, four are reserved. Two of these are for the nature reserves category and two for the undeveloped land category.
The provisional distribution of the remaining 19 seats is as follows (the number of seats in 2019 is shown in brackets):

Final result
The final results will be announced on Thursday, March 23, at 10:00 a.m. during a public session of the central electoral committee. At that time, it will also be announced whether any candidates have been elected by preferential votes. The session will be held in the AB room of the water board building and can be followed via:
On March 27, the water board will bid farewell to the old board during a public meeting of the general board.
On Wednesday, March 29, the new board will begin by taking the oath or vow.
