Water innovation
We are constantly looking for new ways to do our work better, more cheaply, and more sustainably. For us, innovation is not an end in itself. It is a means to achieve our goals. Innovation can help us meet higher quality standards and adapt to a changing climate. Want to take on larger projects while keeping costs low? Innovation can help with that too.
What is innovation?
Innovation is a broad concept. For us, innovation means trying out promising new techniques and constantly adapting our way of working. So we don't always choose the most logical solution. Here are a few examples:
- Using the latest purification techniques;
- More process- and project-based working;
- A new approach to procurement tendering;
- Carrying out water management together with residents or farmers.
Why innovate?
Our environment is changing, so we must change too. Innovation also offers us opportunities to:
- Keeping costs low;
- Being well prepared for (future) developments, such as climate change;
- To perform our tasks as efficiently and sustainably as possible.
A good example: our treatment plants are increasingly becoming small energy factories. This allows us to save costs. At the same time, we are contributing to a better environment.
