Improving water quality in Eelderdiep
Noorderzijlvest aims to improve water quality in the Eelderdiep. This aligns with the regulations the Water Framework Directive. We want to achieve this in the most natural way possible, in harmony with the surrounding environment. It is important to first examine how the area was formed and how it is currently used. To find this out, we conducted a study.
More information about the Eelderdiep
Recently, we conducted what is known as a comprehensive system analysis. This study provides greater insight into water quality and water volume throughout the seasons. We also gained more information about the ecology, soil composition, and geological history of the area. This knowledge is essential for better understanding how the water system functions and what the current state of the area is.
Armed with this knowledge and insights from the field, we aim to work with our partners and residents to make water management more sustainable, greener, and more natural. This aligns with our Blue Environmental Vision (BOVi). We will be working on this in the coming period.
