Water board launches campaign ‘Your Water World’
The unveiling of the first bench at the water board office on Stedumermaar in Groningen marked the start of the multi-year campaign Jouw Waterwereld (Your Water World). This campaign brings the work of the Noorderzijlvest Water Board to the attention of residents in the region in an accessible and inspiring way.
Benches
At the heart of the campaign are specially designed benches in the shape of a diving board. These will be placed over time at water board facilities such as pumping stations, locks, sewage treatment plants, and dikes. Each bench is equipped with a recognizable pair of binoculars, the symbol of the campaign. This represents focus, visibility, and experiencing the outside world.
Cycling and walking routes
The benches are the starting point for various cycling and walking routes that residents can follow along important waterworks and roads. Along the way, information boards tell them more about water management and the role that the water board plays in ensuring clean, healthy, safe, and sufficient water.
Your Water World
“With this campaign, we are literally bringing our work outside and inviting residents to discover their own water world,” says dike reeve Roeland van der Schaaf. “We want to show how important it is to work on water and how we can work together to ensure a healthy living environment.”
