Board of Directors
The Board of Directors the Noorderzijlvest Water Authority has 23 members. Together, they formulate the policy, regulations, and agreements of the water authority. They do so on behalf of the groups of residents, farmers, foresters, and nature conservationists. The group of residents is divided into different parties and is therefore elected during the water-authority elections. The other groups form the categories.
Composition of the board
The residents
19 members sit on the board on behalf of the residents of the water-authority region. You elected these members during the water-authority elections on 15 March 2023.
The farmers
Two members on the board represent the farmers from the water authority's region. They were elected by the Dutch agricultural and horticultural organisation (LTO Nederland).
Forest and nature
Two members sit on the board for forests and nature in the water-authority region. They are elected by the Dutch association of forest and nature owners (VBNE).

Board of Directors meetings
The Board of Directors has two types of meetings:
- The board takes decisions at the meetings of the Board of Directors. These are the decision-making meetings.
- During the informative Board of Directors meetings, the board receives information and updates.
The Board of Directors meetings are open to everyone. These meetings take place on Wednesday evenings at the water-authority building in Groningen. The Board of Directors meets 16 times a year.
