Tours
We offer various tours for school groups and groups of interested parties. We are also open to ideas for visits to sites and projects.
Standard tours
For interested adults and groups of people in associations, we organise standard guided tours on the first and third Thursday afternoons of the month at the following sites:
- Guided tour of the Garmerwolde wastewater treatment plant
- Guided tour of De Waterwolf pumping station
The tours take place from April to September and are free of charge. We recommend that you request a tour in advance, as we need to take account of work that is carried out on the sites. You can submit a request with the registration form for the tour.
On an expedition with students from groups 7 and 8
Our experts like to talk about clean and enough water in nature and about treated wastewater at the water's edge or on site. We have a few standard options for groups 7 and 8 of a primary school:
- In May and June, you can apply to the water authority for a ditch expedition. A water expert will explain how to test whether the water is clean, and we will catch aquatic creatures.
- In spring and autumn, guided tours are available at the Garmerwolde wastewater treatment plant, including a guest lecture and a creative assignment on water conservation.
- In spring and autumn, guided tours are available at De Waterwolf pumping station with explanations of the water system and a fun game about water management.
