Come to Our Water World on June 27!

On the last Saturday of June, you’re welcome to join us between 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. at our beach for a one-day event at Siblu Family Parks in Lauwersoog. During this free event, we’ll celebrate the completion of three major projects in our area. You’ll also have the chance to learn more about all our water-management work a relaxed atmosphere filled with music and culture. Welcome!

Dyke reinforcement Lauwersmeer dyke-Vierhuizergat

The Lauwersmeerdijk in Groningen lies between Lauwersoog and the Westpolder. We dyke that dyke . This will help us better protect ourselves against flooding from the sea in the future.

New Waterworks in Zoutkamp

Among other things, the construction of the new Hunsingo pumping station will increase our pumping capacity, allowing us to “lift” more and more water from the lower-lying hinterland up to Lauwersmeer, where it will ultimately be discharged into the sea. The village will also be celebrating the completion of the New Waterworks on June 12 and 13, together with our water authority, the province of Groningen, and the council Hogeland council .

Westerkwartier Wastewater Treatment Plant

We realise new wastewater treatment plant in Gaarkeuken. It will eventually replace the old plants in Marum, Gaarkeuken, and Zuidhorn. Cleaner water, better for the environment, and less odour noise in the surrounding area.
