City walk
Our city walk takes you past various places and streets throughout the city of Groningen. These places all have something to do with water. The walk is 3.5 km long and takes about an hour and a half to complete.
Living with Water Week
Water is all around us. But clean, safe, and sufficient water cannot be taken for granted. Especially now that the climate is changing and extreme weather events are becoming more frequent. That is why it is time to change the way we use water. During Life with Water Week, there will be fun and educational activities throughout the country that revolve around... you guessed it: water!
This will help you discover how special and important life with water really is.

Cycling routes pumping station Waterwolf
In 2020, we celebrated 100 years of pumping station Waterwolf pumping station . To mark the occasion, we created a number of cycling routes. From the pumping station Waterwolf pumping station , you can cycle to every corner of the compass. Each route takes you past eight cultural-historical objects belonging to our water authority.
Paterswoldsemeer cycle route
The work on the Paterswoldsemeer will be completed in March 2025. The Noorderzijlvest Water Authority has taken various measures to improve water quality. Curious about the route?
