2021 Public Annual Report: Delivering on our promises!

We completed about 73% of the water-management work planned. We are proud of this achievement, especially given the extraordinary circumstances. After all, we continued to operate under restrictive COVID-19 measures throughout 2021. 
We are increasingly seeing that the public is becoming aware of the role of water. Whether there is too much or too little water, it dominates the news and public discourse. This is happening more frequently and with greater urgency. That is why it remains of the utmost importance that we deliver on our promises together with our partners and the people who region and work in our region . 

New Water Management Program: Robust water-management work, Tailored Solutions, and Collaboration

In 2021, our Bestuur of Directors adopted Bestuur of Directors new water management program. This program focuses strongly on the challenges in six sub-areas within our entire region. This makes the dialogue with residents and partners about the issues at stake more recognizable, more specific, and more manageable for all involved. 2021 is the first year of implementation of the new water management program.  

Our challenges can be summarized as follows:

• we must remain 'climate-ready'; 
• we are working towards a more natural water system;
• we set the agenda and facilitate spatial developments;
• we contribute to a sustainably designed area; 
• We are a fit organisation works together on our tasks.
