Waste-treatment rate chart 2026

Waste-treatment costs and minimum-rate system.

  • The waste-treatment rates are set annually in the annual plan of Noorderzijlvest Water Authority.

Waste-treatment costs

The costs depend on the type of waste you deliver. Wastewater is charged based on the delivered
pollution load (calculated with the government formula) multiplied by the applicable rate for the
pollution levy.

Waste-treatment costs
ServiceRate
wastewater treatment€106.27 per pollution unit (p.u.)
lab analysis of wastewater€81.00 per shipment
sludge treatment€1,030.00 per tonne of dry matter
lab analysis sludge74.00 per shipment

The prices quoted are valid for the year 2026, subject to any interim changes in
final treatment costs and/or changes in legislation and regulations. The amounts do not include any
additional analyses that may be required and are exclusive of 21% VAT.

Minimum-rate system

However, in order to cover costs, a minimum limit has been set for the costs per product and
unit. This is the amount that will be charged in any case. A minimum-rate system is used in accordance with the following schedule:

Minimum-rate system
Wastewater (including septic):
less than 3 tonnes per shipment: 1 p.u. (= 1 x €106.27)
less than 15 tonnes per shipment: 2 p.u. (= 2 x €106.27)
115 tonnes to max. 40 tonnes per shipment: 3 p.u. (= 3 x €106.27)

Amounts exclude 21% VAT.

Exceptions are deliveries of septic waste from locations for which pollution levy is paid to the
Noorderzijlvest Water Authority. These can be offered for treatment free of charge.

Sample calculation 1; wastewater

Suppose you want to have wastewater treated, with volumes above the minimum quantities.
