Within our organisation, several employees are involved in international activities abroad and are also familiar with incoming international visitors. Read about their experiences below!

It almost feels like you're playing a role in the TV series Borgen when you get to tell a group of Danish politicians about the fun and complicated aspects of your project! It is really interesting to work for the water authority: the focus on international cooperation, sharing knowledge, and learning from each other. In the eighteen months I have been with Noorderzijlvest, we have already had visits from Danes, Peruvians, Ghanaians, Kenyans, Angolans, an Iraqi, and a UN ambassador. The water world is extraordinary!”

I can share a lot about how we approach environmental management and inspire attendees with examples. I am very aware of the cultural differences. What works for us does not necessarily work in another country. That makes it extremely interesting for me. How do they approach these kinds of processes? And what can I take back with me to the Netherlands? Because I am traveling with several colleagues from other water authorities, I am also learning a great deal about how other water authorities in the Netherlands deal with stakeholder management, for example."
