What happened before

What steps have we already taken? There is food for thought after many discussions within our own organization.

A shared view of WBS

'Water and soil management' offers many perspectives. We noticed this during the listening phase within Noorderzijlvest. The perspective of the dike reeve is simply different from that of our specialists in the field. These insights are already valuable. The significance of WBS for our work is not entirely clear; there is a need for frameworks and direction. To achieve this, we need the outside world.

With insights from within; to the outside world!

Armed with valuable insights from our own organization, we are now focusing our research on the stakeholders in our field of work. In this 'external listening phase,' we are curious to hear your views on the Water and Soil Steering Principle! Share your ideas and join us in our thinking.

The phasing of our research

We conduct our Water and Soil Steering Research in three key phases. We would like to explain the essence of this to you.

    Essence of the research

WBS research to date

Our research has been ongoing for some time within the Noorderzijlvest Water Authority. For example, we heard:

“Residents often have no idea what we do as a water authority” - Maintenance team

“We need to translate this into implementable policy” - Licensing team

"We need concrete and understandable stories and examples" - Strategy team

"It's mainly about cooperation; the water board is not the body that controls water and soil." - Board

In this process, it is important that we continue to listen. And therefore not yet pass judgment on what we hear. We will therefore continue to listen outside the water board. We ask many open questions to stimulate thinking and discussion about 'water and soil control'. In addition to a great deal of brainpower devoted to the process of embedding 'water and soil management' in spatial developments in our area, we also see a need for an applicable framework to help us make decisions. This will ultimately help to create future-proof added value for the area in which we live.

Discover how you can participate

For our research, we actively seek dialogue with stakeholders in various ways. We are curious: how would you like to share your valuable insights and ideas with us? Together, we can make a difference for a sustainably designed physical living environment.
