Giving water and soil a voice: the leading role of the water authority

Over the past year, Noorderzijlvest Water Authority conducted Noorderzijlvest Water Authority research into how we can give water and soil a voice. We already knew that we needed to collaborate with our partners on this. We now have a much clearer understanding of how we want to shape sustainable collaboration so that water and soil truly guide our decisions.

Keynote

During this networking event at the brand-new WEC (Wadden Sea World Heritage Centre) in Lauwersoog, we will reflect on the changing nature of work in a rapidly evolving environment. After all, we have heard a great deal about the expectations surrounding the water authority new leadership role water authority giving a voice to water and soil—as the foundation for everything else.

So when are you taking the lead? What water authority should the water authority be able to do, and what should it water authority do? How will we see the results of that? We identified six building blocks for sharing responsibility for water and soil. And for collaborating closely in that regard.

Dr. Margo van den Brink is affiliated with the Faculty of Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen. She has a particular interest in implementing organizations that operate at the intersection of water management and spatial development, and she studies the transition of these essential organisation, including the water boards. She is our keynote speaker and will share her reflections on our research during this evening’s event.
