Waterwolf Extends Its 100th Anniversary Celebration!

Walk along the levee

The activities focus on the pumping station, water, and the landscape. For example, on July 10, you can join a walk along the levee from the pumping station Zoutkamp. This walk will be led by an experienced guide. A shuttle bus will take participants back to the pumping station. There are several start times available.

Drawing and Nature Photography Workshops

On July 24, creativity takes center stage. In the morning, participants can join the nature photography workshop. The photographic tour through nature starting at the pumping station led by a professional photographer. With an eye for the unique surroundings, participants will learn the tricks of the trade. In the afternoon, there are two sessions available for a drawing workshop. pumping station the pumping station from the birdwatching hut on the Rietdiep, just as Johan Dijkstra once immortalised the pumping station from that very spot. No drawing experience is required for this workshop.

Turn on the pumps

Even after a hundred years, the pumping station still in use throughout the season. For the general public, the centennial celebration will come to a grand close on August 28. During the day,Noorderzijlvest Water Authority organises Noorderzijlvest Water Authority large Open House. Young and old alike can learn more about topics such as mobile water level management, fish migration, and the use of drones through experiments, guided tours, machinery, and apps. Special activities for children include a creative drawing, arts-and-crafts, and building corner, as well as a bouncy castle. The day will conclude in the evening with a major performance by the Noordpoolorkest in collaboration with Pé Daalemmer & Rooie Rinus and Marlène Bakker.
